Code of Practice Drainage Fields for the Disposal of Effluent from BS EN 12566 certified packaged wastewater treatment plants and septic tanks

A poorly maintained or incorrectly installed drainage field will result in environmental pollution and owners may be subject to enforcement by the environmental regulator. The purpose of this Guide is to help you avoid this. It explains what a drainage field is, why it is needed and how to find a company that will install and maintain it correctly to BS 6297:2007+A1:2008. The terms drainage field and soakaway are sometimes used interchangeably as if they are the same thing and perform the same function. They do not.
